Why did they choose Techsurge?
The client, a prominent organisation in Facility Management, Hospitality, Retail, Healthcare, and Logistics, approached Techsurge Learning to upskill their staff's knowledge through a comprehensive training program. Their primary goal was to digitise their training content to improve accessibility and enable self-paced learning.
The Challenge
- Conducting in-person training sessions incurred significant expenses, including trainer hiring, physical classroom arrangements, and logistical management.
- The existing content was in printed documents, which were straightforward to grasp but lacked interactivity, resulting in a passive learning encounter.
Consequently, they recognised the need to transition to an eLearning approach.
Business Requirements
- To transform existing content into a digital format.
- To introduce a more engaging and immersive learning environment to boost employee involvement, enhance knowledge retention, and foster improved knowledge-sharing and decision-making capabilities.
- To provide easily digestible, self-paced learning materials.
- To design a blended learning program incorporating Levels 1, 2, and 3 of learning.
- To ensure the learning materials were comprehensible and effective on the first use.
The Solution – Learning by Doing
Techsurge formulated a solution to meet the client's requirements:
- We initiated the project by creating a high-level Design Document outlining the instructional and visual design approach for all training modules.
- We developed multiple e-learning modules using Articulate Storyline, each comprising 35-45 screens per hour of online training.
- The modules created were SCORM 2004 compliant.
- We used inbuilt Storyline templates to create engaging interactivities, including tab interactions, click interactions, and drag-and-drop exercises.
- The complex concepts and processes from the raw content were illustrated using small animations for better comprehension.
This comprehensive strategy guaranteed that the training was not just informative but also captivating and easily available to a wide-ranging workforce.
Key Features
- Storyline's quizzing templates were utilised to develop formative assessments.
- The e-learning modules were designed with English voiceovers to enhance understanding.
- Bookmarking and Completion Status features were incorporated for Learning Management System (LMS) tracking.
- A common Graphical User Interface (GUI) was designed for consistency across all modules.
- Images, photos, and graphics were sourced from a stock image website under a project-specific subscription. Resources such as videos and PDF reading materials were included to enhance the learning experience.
